About Andrea
Becoming a VCTC Level 3 qualified reflexologist in October 2018, couldn’t have been more different to the jobs I had until then. I’ve spent the majority of my career working in public sector communications including the past 15 years in local government.
So you may be wondering why I’ve embarked on a new career. Life can be stressful, most of us are time poor and often our health and wellbeing takes a back seat. I’ve always been interested in ways to alleviate stress, especially as the communications job is often ‘full on’, with not much let up. For me it’s important to head to the gym to burn off some energy or to cook a meal from scratch, as I feel it important to eat well and be active. I also benefit from Pilates.
I also introduced complementary therapies into my life about 20 years ago to help rebalance my body and mind and tackle the stress. Reflexology is a treatment I’ve had on and off during the past 15 years, particularly when stress takes over and I’ve felt overwhelmed and off kilter. The benefits of reflexology soon became apparent after my course of treatments.
I’ve previously thought about studying for the Diploma in Reflexology but the time had never been quite right. That was until 2017, and after a difficult period, I decided it was time to put myself first and train in something I was passionate about. I know from personal experience what a positive impact reflexology can have and I wanted to be able to share that with people and hopefully improve their sense of wellbeing and balance.
I am fully insured and a member of the Association of Reflexologists, First Aid qualified and hold a DBS certificate.
If you would like to discuss how reflexology could help you, I'd love to hear from you, so please get in touch.
